A stunning 20-metre-long blue whale replica takes centre stage at ifc mall this summer, transforming the Atrium into a spectacular underwater world and giving visitors an opportunity to explore and interact with the largest creature to have ever lived up close.
Curated in collaboration with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Hong Kong, this exhibition allows visitors to experience life in the depths of the ocean and discover stories from both a global and local perspective. Surrounding the magnificent blue whale are beautiful, floating jellyfish with their tentacles fitted with speakers.

Exhibition highlight:
Under the soothing sounds of a whale song, visitors can explore three “islands” with incredible stories that celebrate the wonder and beauty of our oceans.
  • Five Blue Whale stories narrated by artist and conservationist Karen Mok.
  • Rare fossils that highlight early ocean life and specimens of curious creatures found only in China and Canada, on display for the first time in HK.
  • Remarkable film footage and blue whale audio recordings shot by Asia’s leading underwater filmmakers and photographers.
  • Hyper-realistic 3D models and an immersive AR experience featuring a baby whale that add to the sense of discovery and exploration of these marine mammals.

Guided tours:
Guided tours are also available for Wonders of the Ocean on Saturdays and Sundays of the exhibition period (3, 4, 10, 11, 17 and 18 August).
