About】

To continue to weave creative experiences for all this winter season, CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) will launch the Winter Programme Sudo Reiko: Making NUNO Textile, the solo exhibition of internationally acclaimed Japanese textile designer Sudo Reiko. With artistic direction by Saito Seiichi and installation design of Koi Currents by Adrien Gardère, this exhibition presents the creative process behind Sudo Reiko’s nuno (textiles/fabrics) through her drawings, sketches, material samples and design prototypes, as well as video and immersive sound and visual installations.

Another highlight of the season integral to CHAT’s Winter Programme 2019 is the Discussion Forum: Staging Textiles: Shifting Contexts from Studio to Museum, an annual international conference that explores the possibilities of textiles in different contexts taking place on Saturday and Sunday 7 to 8 December, 2019, featuring over a dozen speakers across disciplines, backgrounds and geographies.

A variety of making workshops such as the Stitch-Weave-Sew-Repeat! Making Marathon for All will take place, allowing visitors to make their own textile products inspired by artworks in the exhibition.

The above information is provided by CityProg Partner Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT).
