THUD with special guests from Singapore Cosmic Child and Subsonic Eye !
With the release of their first 2 tracks ‘Lime’ and ‘Venture’ Thud created international buzz with rave reviews from ‘NME’ and ‘Drowned in Sound’ and followed though with the critically acclaimed ‘Floret’ EP. For their latest single 'Prime of Pride’ (mixed by Max Bloom from Yuck) Thud take a shoegaze wall of sound- add synths, dreamy vocals and an off beat groove to make a sound that captures a whole new vapour gaze aesthetic. In the last year year Thud have supported international acts - Yuck, Postiljonen, Braids, Caspian, The Bilinda Butchers, and ave performed at East Asia Shoegaze Fest in Shanghai and Rocking the Region in Singapore. Thud are currently recording their album and will be debuting some pretty awesome new tracks! ｡◕‿◕｡
Cosmic Child is a five piece Singapore based duvet-wave band, with a passion for creating dreamy soundscapes and infectious melodies with walls of effects-drenched guitars coupled with enchanting synths.
Drawing on influences from the distant past, Cosmic Child seeks to challenge listeners with a unique sound that will bring a fresh twist to music. Cosmic Child supported Swervedriver last year in Singapore and are about to embark on the first Asian tour.
Subsonic Eye is an alternative dream pop band from the hazy and rainy Singapore. Their sound combines the soothing algorithms of a digital synth, catchy guitar and vocal lines. Along with wielding pop melodies with restraint and embraces passages that drone on instead of build, they make the audience feel wistful nostalgia towards the memories they never even had. Best characterised by the quote, ‘Happy music for sad people’, they hope to share their music with as much people as they can. Subsonic Eye supported Yuck last year in Singapore and will release an album on Middle Class Cigars this year.
