Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia
Present a World of Innovations in October

The annual HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia will be held concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13-16 October 2016. The two fairs will gather more than 4,100 exhibitors from across the globe, representing the world’s largest electronics marketplace to showcase a wide variety of intelligent products, innovative technology and electronic components.

Entering its 36th edition, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), while the 20th electronicAsia is jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd. In the 2015 editions, the twin fairs attracted a total of around 96,000 buyers from some 150 countries and regions.

Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director, HKTDC, said, “October is the sourcing peak season in the year. Being one of the leading industry trade fairs in the region, the Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) features the latest technology trends and developments. This year, two new zones, Virtual Reality (VR) and Innovation & Start-up Zone, will be launched at the Fair to cater to the market demand. Together with the concurrent electronicAsia, the two events will create a bundle of crossover business opportunities between the exhibitors and buyers.”

Electronics Fair
The Electronics Fair features all kinds of electronic products categorised under themed product zones for effective sourcing. Nowadays, many electronics and video game companies invest in the development of Virtual Reality technology. A new zone on Virtual Reality (VR) will be launched at the Electronics Fair this year, featuring a variety of VR equipment and applications. Another new highlight is the debut Innovation & Start-up Zone, which offers an ideal platform for start-ups to showcase their innovative ideas to international buyers.

Launched in the edition last year, Smart Tech zone will showcase electronic devices featuring Internet of Things (IoT) applications for modern living. Another returning zone is Robotics and Unmanned Tech, presenting the latest models of aerial cameras, remote-controlled drones, electric scooters and more.

The Hall of Fame will continue to be a spotlight of the Fair, featuring stylish products from over 520 renowned brand names such as Binatone, Fujikon, Goodway, Haier, Intel and VTech. Other highlighted product zones include Wearable Electronics, 3D Printing, Audio Visual Products and Personal Electronics among others.

electronicAsia
Held concurrently with the Electronics Fair, electronicAsia creates an unrivalled platform for suppliers of electronic components and production technologies to showcase their products to international buyers. A new zone of Integrated Circuit will be launched this year to present the latest models of micro-electronic components, gathering related manufacturers for more effective sourcing.

Meanwhile, the World of Display Technology zone will continue to feature some of the latest visualisation technologies. The Printed Circuit Board zone will display various types of printed circuit board. The Key Components for Smart Devices zone will give manufacturers the latest technology in their vital components such as display light and smart switches modules. Solar & Photovoltaic zone will showcase the latest photovoltaic technologies. Other product zones include Keyboards & Switches and the Hong Kong Metal Parts & Components Pavilion.

hktdc.com Small Orders and Value-added Events
The hktdc.com Small Orders zone will continue to serve as a convenient platform for buyers to source in smaller lots, featuring products available in the minimum order quantities between 5 to 1,000 pieces. It is also online at hktdc.com for global buyers to source products and complete transactions online.

During the twin fairs, there will be a series of seminars and forum for exhibitors, buyers and visitors to share the latest trends and development of the electronics industry. Topics to be covered include Smart Technologies, IoT Trends, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, wearable technology and integrated circuit. Last year, an international conference “IoT Revolution – How does it benefit your Business?” was arranged with experts from around the world discussing the IoT trends. This year, the HKTDC will organise “Symposium on Innovation & Technology” on the first day of the fairs (13 October). International speakers from renowned brands and enterprises including Hewlett Packard, Amazon and Qualcomm will share their views on the future trends of smart devices and IoT applications.
