A group of artists and bonsai horticulturists create a "modern garden" with the theme of literati aesthetics. This garden shows the sentiment of literati living in the city who pursue pleasure of art, advocate nature and seek for unity of man and universe. It forms a quiet and leisure space creating a dialogue with the people. It is also an empty space for people to breathe in the intense city.

The theme of paintings are based on the rocks, vases, antiques, relics, fish ponds, flowing water, etc. The paintings and bonsai complement each other in the setting. The materials and concepts employed by the artists comprise ancient and modern Chinese and Western elements, reflect the characters and the artists' thoughts on local culture.
