Grave, agile, majestic and picturesque, the keyboard output of Francois Couperin, with its array of indispensable ornaments and piquant details, enables us to follow all the impulses of the soul of ”the most poetic of our harpsichord composers,” as Debussy called him. Performed here on the piano, which brings them its own special color, these harpsichord pieces, in their various moods, retain all their inimitable charm in the hands of Israeli pianist Iddo Bar-Shai.

On the same stage, shadows shaped live by Philippe Beau, magician of the light. Both artists worked for several weeks under the leadership of the Swiss director Curchod who created a scenography that marry perfectly these two arts, thus deepening the new forms of the concert. It’s a perfect osmosis between the two artists, who had never worked together before this project, imagined by the CCR The Dominicans of Haute-Alsace. A show accessible to all, enlightened amateurs or curious neophytes, and especially to children from 10 who will be able to discover music differently.
