Due to popular demand, Maison Huit has invited Ms. Yuki Futami to collaborate for the 2nd time to co-host a more in-depth workshop on Japanese matcha where participants not only learn about and taste the matcha, but also whisk their very own tea!

Ms. Futami will talk about the practice of matcha tea in everyday life, followed by a demonstration, and Maiton Huit's curator will talk about the similar ways to appreciate tea and ceramics. In the second part of the workshop, participants will whisk and prepare their own bowl of matcha under Ms. Futami's guidance. Throughout the session, participants will be taught and encouraged to discuss the aroma, taste and texture of the tea. Simple Japanese vocabularies related to tea culture will also be taught.

Language: The event will be delivered in English and/or Japanese. Yuki can also speak Mandarin and can understand Cantonese reasonably well.

About the presenter: Ms. Yuki Futami, a Japanese who lives in Hong Kong, has been practicing the Japanese way of tea (Chado) since 2009. She is certified by the Nihoncha Instructor Association (Tokyo, Japan) as a tea instructor and is the NIAJ Tea Ambassador in Hong Kong.
