Anna Salenko was born in Vladivostok, Russia. At the age of 11, she visited Hong Kong for the first time. A vivid image of the city and its unique character were imprinted in her mind.
Immediately after school, Anna enrolled in the faculty of Fashion Marketing at the Institute of European Design in Milan and settled in Italy. In an atmosphere of creativity, and home to some of history’s greatest artists, she discovered the world of art and got accustomed to using the palette knife.
Now residing in Hong Kong, the artist recently discovered the opportunity to work on the theme of Italy, a country that she often remembers fondly. This is how the idea came about to create this exhibition. Italy in Anna Salenko's paintings is sunny and kind; the way it really is.
Her work is expressed as a contrast of colors and their combinations, which rightfully occupy a major role in her paintings. In Anna's works, there is almost never any black, only bright and bold colors, which is how the artist sees the world around her.
