Our school’s Pilates program is derived from the core principles of the Pilates Method of exercise founded by Joseph Pilates (1883-1967) and the teaching guidelines set forth by Body Control Pilates. However, our training and teaching methods are quite different from those of other schools. The uniqueness of our mindful style of Pilates was inspired by the teachings of our affiliated Wing Chun School, which stresses on the ‘internal practice’. Highlighting Pilates as a somatic practice, our unique Pilates program is more than just an outstanding body-strengthening tool; it also helps balance the body and mind by cultivating mindfulness and deep relaxation, leading to a pain-free, stress-free life.
For us, Pilates is a way of life and everyone should benefit from it! We recommend it to everyone regardless of age, gender and physical ability, because we know it can improve people’s quality of life in many ways. As Joseph Pilates said, “The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power.”
