Maxime Zecchini had the idea of exploring the left hand repertoire a few years ago when he first studied Ravel’s Concerto with his left hand. The idea that playing with just five fingers could sound like two hands seemed like an extraordinary wonder to him. These works display the left hand’s vast capacities: at its best, it can make the piano sound like a full orchestra.
Zecchini will perform a magical left hand repertoire along with fascinating solo piano pieces composed by Ravel, Chopin, Verdi, Mozart and Brahms.

Mozart Fantasy in D minor
Alkan Fantasy opus 76
Chopin Nocturne opus 9 n°1
Verdi Miserere, from Opera «Le Trouvère»
Brahms Intermezzo opus 117 n°2
Ravel/Zecchini Concerto for the Left Hand – Transcription for piano solo
Michel Legrand Suite on film music ( Summer 42, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Yentl)

The performance will last for approximately 1 hour.
