To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a street carnival called "Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road" will be held on July 1 and 2 with a series of activities such as exhibitions, workshops and performances, providing a unique opportunity for the public to experience the rich history, heritage, cultural and arts ambience of Hollywood Road.
The event will be launched at PMQ on July 1 with creative stalls, workshops and music performances as well as the sale of Hong Kong local snacks. On July 2 the event will also take place on the section of Hollywood Road from Aberdeen Street through to the junction with Wyndham Street and will include a cheongsam show, street dances, singing and music performances, guided tours, sketching activities, workshops, exhibitions and more. The non-profit-making organisations that run the Batch I and II projects of the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme (Revitalisation Scheme) will also host activities at their own marquees along the road, enabling the public to learn more about the current uses and services of revitalised historic buildings. The HKAAGA will organise a variety of events on Upper Lascar Row, including exhibitions, workshops, flash mob dances and music as well as sale of traditional snacks.
Route maps of the event will be distributed at various locations in the territory from June 22 onwards. During the event period, Hollywood Road pamphlets, route maps and magnetic badges will be distributed at the visitor information counters on Hollywood Road and Upper Lascar Row on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors can also collect special stamps based on the eight Revitalisation Scheme projects, PMQ and Tai Kwun (Central Police Station Compound) at the visitor information counters of Hollywood Road as souvenirs of their journey of heritage exploration.
