This August, as part of the Metropolitan Opera’s MET: Live in HD 2022 series, we invite you and your family to a matinee screening of Massenet’s fairy-tale opera Cinderella (Cendrillon). The abridged English-language adaptation of Laurent Pelly’s delightful staging unfolds in a storybook setting with fun, whimsical costumes, and mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard as the rags-to-riches princess Cinderella. Conductor maestro Emmanuel Villaume leads an acclaimed cast, with mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo as Prince Charming, soprano Jessica Pratt as Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, and mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe and bass-baritone Laurent Naouri as her feuding guardians.
