Shankar Mahadevan is a very well known Indian music composer and playback singer. He is a part of the Shankar - Ehsaan- Loy trio that composes music for Indian films. He has sung in many films for music directors such as A . R . Rahman, Anu Malik etc, but incidentally, a majority of the songs sung by him in Hindi have also been composed by him. Shankar has won numerous National and Filmfare awards and nominations for his songs in movies such as 'Kal Ho Na Ho', 'Taare Zameen Par' ,' Dil Chahta Hai' ,' Bunty aur Babli' , 'Rock On' etc. He composed and sang ' De Ghuma Ke', the theme song for the Cricket World Cup 2011. His other hit compositions include 'Don- The Chase Begins Again' ,' Heyy Babyy' ,' Johnny Gaddar' ,'Wake Up Sid' , 'My Name Is Khan ' ,' Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara',' Don -2 ', ' Mission Kashmir' etc ... A mentor on Zee TV's 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' and also a judge and mentor on Star Plus's ' Music Ka Maha Muqabla', Shankar has been surrounded by fame and success for years.
