For fans of: Syd Barrett, Blur, Two Door Cinema Club, Pulp Formed on Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, London, Mysery Jets came together in 2004 around the core group of Blaine Harrison (vocals, guitar), Henry Harrison (lyrics, piano and Blaine’s Dad), William Rees (guitar, vocals) and Kapil Trivedi (drums). Signed to Rough Trade records (Belle & Sebastian, The Strokes, The Libertines etc) the gourp’s ragged promise of 2006’s exciting debut album ‘Making Dens’ marked them out as one’s to watch. It was potent ial that was realised with the the shiny, pop perfection of follow up LP ‘Twenty One’. Including quirky singles ‘Young Love’ (featuring Laura Marling) and the insanely infectious ‘Two Doors Down’, Mystery Jets were now firmly positioned within the indie mainstream, breaking through into ever larger public consciousness. The slick production of 2010’s high gloss studio album‘Serotonin’ followed in 2010 and sparkled with stadium-sized pop gems which The Killers would have been proud of. Fast forward to 2012 and the group’s latest album ‘Radlands’ (released in April). With a desire to search out new envirnments, experiences and inspiration, the group relocated to Austin, Texas to write and record the LP. Produced by the band and Dan Carey (Franz Ferdiand, Hot Chip, Kylie Minogue) it marks a return for a band on fine form. As the group embark on return shows in the West, Your Mum is pleased as punch to welcome them to Hong Kong as part of their Asian tour.
