厉致谦 Li Zhiqian
厉致谦先生是一位以设计为原点的多领域研究与实践者,涉及字体研究、平面设计、空间构成、产品设计、影像、撰稿、翻译、策展等。TheType 作者,「上海活字」综合研究项目发起人,创新型字体公司3type(三言)联合创始人。上海美术学院字体设计工作室特聘研究员。上海视觉艺术学院外聘讲师。2023年纽约TDC Ascender奖国际评委。
Li Zhiqian is a multi-disciplinary design researcher and practitioner, involving in the fields of type research, graphic design, spatial design, product design, photohrgaphy, copywriting, translation, curatorship, etc. He is the author of The Type, initiator of the "Shanghai Movable Type" comprehensive research project, and the co-founder of the innovative font company 3type. Li is also an appointed researcher at the Type Design Studio of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, visiting lecturer at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts and one of the international judges for the New York TDC Ascender Awards 2023.
小林章 Akira Kobayashi
蒙纳字体总监小林章先生(Akira Kobayashi)是世界知名的西文字体设计师。他拥有近四十年的字体设计经验,在日本被誉为「西文字体第一人」。 他在2002年推出了Optima Nova,是Hermann Zapf 设计的 Optima 的现代版。 他还在 2009 年与 Adrian Frutiger 合作升级了 Frutiger 字体家族。在他的职业生涯中,小林章先生设计了超过 50 个字体家族,包括 DIN Next、Akko Pro 和 Neue Frutiger 等知名字体。他曾经为阿里巴巴、Bridgestone、Mazda、Garena、Mercari 等公司设计定制字体。同时,他也为 Sony 定制了英文和日文字体家族。此外,小林章先生还执掌翔鹤、松籁等日文字体的主要设计。
Creative Type Director Akira Kobayashi has nearly four decades of experience and an extensive background in Japanese typeface design and is a 2022 TDC Medal and Keinosuke Sato Award winner. He released Optima Nova in 2002, a modernized version of Hermann Zapf's Optima, and partnered with Adrian Frutiger in 2009 to update his typeface family. Recently in 2022, Akira directed the development of Shorai Sans and Tazugane Gothic.
Throughout his career, Akira has designed more than 50 font families including DIN Next, Akko Pro and Neue Frutiger, and worked with major brands including Alibaba, UBS, Panasonic and Sony on custom type.
郭炳权 Kwok Ping Kuen
郭炳权先生是中港两地的资深字体设计师,从事字体设计已近六十年,在中、英、日、韩字体设计具相当的经验,尤其对中文字体设计的发展有着非凡的贡献。郭氏曾于香港大一设计学院任教中英文字体设计,亦曾为多间广告公司及集团企业作字体计设主任。1973年成立字体创作中心(CCC)后,便开始与不同的国内及海外字体公司合作,包括写研、方正字库、蒙纳公司等,字体设计作品超过500多款,其中港人较为常用的字体有综艺体、刚黑体、雅丽体、活意体等。
Kwok Ping Kuen is an experienced type designer in China and Hong Kong. With close to 60 years of type design experience, he specialises in designing CJK and Latin typefaces and has made extraordinary contribution to the development of Chinese type design over the decades. Kwok used to teach Latin and Chinese type design at First Institute of Art and Design and has served as the Chief Type Designer for several advertising agencies and corporate compnaies. Since founding the Creative Calligraphy Centre (CCC) in 1973, Kwok has collaborated with various Chinese and Overseas type foundries, including Shaken, Foundertype, Monotype etc. He has designed over 500 typefaces, some of the commonly used typefaces in Hong Kong are M J Ngai, M Stiff Hei, M Elle, M Gentle etc.
