沈迷騎士小說的貴族唐吉訶德，踏上遊俠騎士的征途。在巴塞隆拿，旅館主人羅倫佐趕走了女兒姬翠的窮光蛋情人巴茲里奧，並將她許配給富有的甘馬察。當唐吉訶德抵達時，他誤把旅館當作城堡，旅館主人當作城堡主人，又將美麗的姬翠認作自己的夢中情人杜茜尼亞⋯
由芭蕾舞傳奇人物、巴黎歌劇院前舞蹈總監 Rudolph Nureyev 以佩蒂巴的編舞為藍本改編而成，並由巴黎歌劇院芭蕾舞團明星 ─ 首席舞者 Dorothée Gilbert、Karl Paquette 及 Marie-Agnès Gillot 擔綱演出。
