The Dodos成立於2005年，是一隊來自美國三藩市的，由主音及結他手Meric Long及鼓手Logan Kroeber所組成的獨立民謠樂隊。樂隊初期名字為Dodobird，在西岸實驗鼓手Logan Kroeber加入後才改名為
The Dodos，兩人臭味相投一見如故，隨即組成樂隊。
The Dodos在2008年推出首張大碟，名為 “Beware of the Maniacs”，並在同年推出另一張大碟 “Visiter”。在2009年灌錄大碟 "Time to Die" 時Long及Kroeber邀請了電顫琴手Keaton Snyder的協助及Phil Ek作製作人，同時亦覺得此組合能擦出更多有趣的火花。2011年製作大碟 “No Color” 時亦邀請了Neko Case作協助歌手並繼續沿用 “Visiter” 時的創作團隊。
