劉培基為香港著名時裝設計師，他一生傳奇，創造了不少極具代表性的時裝作品。早於1970年代初，他已到海外進修時裝設計，並獲邀參與香港貿易發展局時裝節，其後更到倫敦參與高級時裝展。他憑著努力不懈的精神，奠定了國際時裝設計師的地位，為港人爭光。劉培基亦為本地樂壇引入形象設計概念，是首位為歌手設計形象的設計師，當中最為人熟悉的是「百變梅艷芳」。 是次得到劉培基慷慨捐贈他的時裝、舞台服飾、手稿及設計資料照片，以及各好友及機構的支持。展品包括「EDDIE LAU - 東方紅」、「姬」系列、國泰及港龍航空公司制服，為名人白雪仙、楊紫瓊、汪明荃、林燕妮設計的高級訂製服等。同場更展出梅艷芳多套經典的舞台服飾，以及羅文、何韻詩、蘇永康的演唱會服飾。此外還包括不少珍貴的照片、剪報、錄像訪問等，完整地回顧劉培基從1962至2012年五十年的設計生涯。這不僅成為香港文化博物館重點的時裝設計藏品，更讓觀眾一睹本地精彩的時裝設計，重溫樂壇的集體回憶，共同感受香港人自強不息的精神。 展覽圖錄將於展覽開始後在本館禮品店發售。
