Buddha Boxing / Live Set of Ting Shuo (聽說) Supporting Musicians for Tribute to FM3: e:ch (Macau) / Heroses / Shelf-Index/ Sin:Ned / Timmy Lok (ex-Juno) A whole new experience in meditative music. FM3 is a beijing-based duo of Christiaan Virant and Zhang Jian. Which Christiaan Virant moved to China in 1980s to study Chinese Music and culture. In 1999, Virant joined Zhang Jian to form FM3; a project where the pair could experiment with music that combined the sound of Chinese classical instruments with modern digital techniques. Starting out as “the ambient, chill-out band that played in the back room” of Beijing clubs and evolving into a “meditative” sound. FM3 has been called “the most prominent experimental act in China” by US magazine Grooves. The UK magazine The Wire calls FM3's live performances “meditative,” “soothing” and “engagingly intimate.” * Ticket for FM3 Live in HK will be available on 17 August in C.I.A, Hidden Agenda, White Noise Records and Zoo Records * Free for City university of Hong Kong full time student
