Jamming since 1996 when they met each other at Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. After returned back to Tokyo in 1999, they formed "Loop Junktion", possibly very first Japanese live hiphop band with 3other members well known in domestic music scene. With 2albums release until 2004, they reformed a new band "Cro-Magnon" with current members to go back to their starting point. At the same time, they signed to Japan's finest label "Jazzy Sport Production".
Based on soul music, Cro-Magnon sound is fusion of house, dub, jazz, funk, reggae with essence of many other good music.
In past years, Cro-Magnon has worked with many International and Japan's domestic talents such as "Roy Ayers" "Idjut Boys" "Sa-Ra Creative Partners" "Steve Spacek" "Asako Toki" "Yohei Miyake" to name some. All of their releases keep having respectable feedback from domestic and international music lovers.
Also you can find their amazing quality cover tunes of "Moodymann" "Herbie Hancock" "Freddie Hubbard" "Stevie Wonder" "Michael Jackson" "Jackson5" "Sly and Family Stone" "Sade" with some of their concept albums.
Groove of this band is absolutely at the next level and far beyond the word like "music genre". Even if they perform on big or small stage or even outdoor festival, they won't stop you dancing. Already rocked several cities in Asia as South Korea, Shanghai, Jakarta and 11countries in Europe gave them solid reputation for their unique live performance as one of the the best dance live music from Japan.
In this year, they had many more collaboration with domestic top musicians as "Cro-Magnon Orchestra" and also performed at Fuji Rock Festival in summer. And just finished their 3rd Europe tour for a month with massive praise and response at all gigs.
Hong Kong, are you really ready?!
