文晶瑩的個展「食咗我隻居?」將會探討香港的房屋問題，焦點將集中在工厦藝術工作室。房屋原本是人類基本需要，人人也應有地方住。在香港，房屋卻成為一些投機炒賣商品，以致香港人要捱貴租、買貴樓，香港藝術家難以負擔租用工作室。2012年火炭工厦的樓價於一年內升了差不多五成，2013年也升了一成。因為樓價高，工作室被業主賣掉，有些藝術家每二年便要另找和搬工作室，有一個月不能創作。亦有因為租金飛升，要找更多人夾份租屋，甚至放棄租用工作室。這樣的環境實在不利於藝術發展，也難令人安居樂業。 「食咗我隻居?」展覽將會於火炭藝術工作室開放期間主要展出三組作品: 1.「食咗我隻居?」樓盤廣告 2. 家宅平安 3. 賣磚頭 「食咗我隻居?」為伙炭藝術家工作室開放計劃2014參展活動之一，由香港藝術發展局資助。於2014年1月11- 12日、18-19日及25﹣26日連續三個週末，2-6pm假火炭工業區舉行。展覽期間，每小時均有公眾導賞，另有工作坊，歡迎查詢和傳媒預約安排採訪！ “Erosion of Home?” , the solo exhibition of Phoebe Ching Ying Man tries to explore housing issue in Hong Kong, especially the artist studios in industrial buildings. Perceived as basic human needs in many societies, housing estate on the contrary became the most recognised speculative commodity in this small territory. High price and climbing up rent are burdens to artists who missed the opportunity to own their studio but still wish to start up a workstation. The market has recorded a 50% rise among industrial buildings in Fo Tan, circa 2012, followed by another 10% in 2013. To profit the market, many owners sold their properties. Artists have to move out and find a new flat every two years. Disruption and ceased of work for a whole month are expected. Flat sharing is trendy and the closing down of studios is a common way out as speculators continue pushing up prices. The potential development of individual artists, and even people’s daily living was hindered as a result of the overheating real estate market. “EROSION OF HOME?” mainly comprises 3 sets of art pieces to be exhibited during Fotanian Open Studios: 1. Estate Adverts 2. Home Sweet Home 3. Selling Bricks In conjunction with Fotanian Open Studios 2014, “EROSION OF HOME?” will be held during 11th-12th, 18th-19th & 25th-26th January, three consecutive weekends, from 2pm to 6pm at the Fo Tan industrial district.
