每年譚公誕，香港多座譚公廟都有賀誕活動，其中筲箕灣譚公廟的慶典，規模最大也最有看頭。在這座全港最古老的譚公廟，您可以看到傳統舞龍、醒獅及巡遊表演，熱鬧非常！
譚公與天后一樣，都是海上的守護神。相傳譚公是元朝惠東歸善人(今廣東惠州)，12歲得道，便有呼風喚雨、預測天氣及替人治病的能力，所以被漁民奉為神明。走進譚公廟，您會發現譚公的塑像竟是小孩模樣。相傳那是因為他年少得道，練成長生不老之術，即使年屆80仍能保持孩童的容貌。
