We are busy preparing to welcome 100 galleries from 18 countries in Asia and the world from May 15th to 18th — the same time as Art Basel Hong Kong, and the most dynamic week of the year for art lovers and collectors. Five floors of spacious rooms at the Conrad Hong Kong will be transformed with original paintings, limited editions, sculpture and photography from some of the world’s most interesting emerging and mid-career artists. The Asia Contemporary Art Show, held in Hong Kong every May and October, was founded by collector and gallery owner Mark Saunderson and business partner Douwe Cramer. Mark and Douwe are both active in the city’s vibrant art scene. “We are thrilled that the Show has developed so quickly, and has become the largest local event after Art Basel Hong Kong, and the only local art show held twice a year in the important Spring and Fall seasons,” said Mark. “As well as supporting Hong Kong galleries and artists, we have created a real hub for exhibitors and collectors from all over Asia, as well as Europe, Australia, and North and South America.” Mark and Douwe also founded the Hong Kong Young Artist Prize in 2012; and the Hong Kong Art Prize in 2013, with the support of the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association and Wheelock Properties. The fourth edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show takes place May 15th – 18th and the fifth edition October 2nd to 5th 2014, both at the Conrad Hong Kong.
