The FTTH Council Americas and C Spire are celebrating Gimme Fiber Day in Mississippi today - November 4 -- part of the annual international event and celebration to honor the achievements of Professor Charles Kao, who pioneered the use and development of fiber optics in telecommunications. The celebration showcases how fiber optics have positively impacted communities around the world and what policymakers can do to accelerate its deployment and adoption.
Throughout the year, we know communities and companies all across the United States have stepped up to further the cause of future-proof fiber networks as platforms for economic development, job creation and improved social interaction. What have you been up to? Please drop us a note in the space below so we can collect and promote your efforts. Send us links to videos, photos or stories and we'll use them to help celebrate on November 4th, 2013.
