Currently among the most prestigious ensembles performing baroque repertoire worldwide, le Concert d’Astrée pays tribute to Rameau – one of the most important French composers and music theorists of the Baroque period – on the 250th anniversary of his death. Lead by star conductor Emmanuelle Haïm, 25 musicians accompany Anders J. Dahlin (tenor) and Katherine Watson (soprano) to perform excerpts from Rameau’s major operas: Castor & Pollux, Dardanus, Hippolyte & Aricie & Naïs.

Emmanuelle Haïm & Le Concert d’Astrée
The harpsichordist and conductor Emmanuelle Haïm is regularly invited to conduct the world’s great orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic.
In 2000, she founded her own ensemble, Le Concert d’Astrée, a group of musicians specialising in Baroque music, with which she has rapidly achieved success. The ensemble has been resident at the Opéra de Lille since 2004 and gives numerous operas and concerts there every season, and also performs throughout France (Opéra National du Rhin, Théâtre du Châtelet, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Opéra de Paris) and internationally (Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Barbican Centre, London, the Lincoln Center, New York, Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Salzburg Festival, and the Philharmonie, Berlin).
