LANDMARK
A model of French elegance - the first exhibition is a large panorama featuring exclusive installations mirroring the Putman style. Andrée Putman’s tailored silhouette is like no other, and her voice, language, looks and benevolence are known from Paris to China.
Ms. Putman (1952-2013) was an exceptional woman who initiated a sensitive and rigorous production, with the constant desire to enhance everyday life. Internationally acclaimed and awarded, the Parisian designer instilled her style of restraint and fantasy into public spaces, hotels, shops, museums, ministerial offices, office headquarters and private residences.
Ms. Putman, the icon of French chic, made her mark in the world of decoration with a unique aesthetic approach that reconciled rich and poor materials. During the 3 weeks time, visitors to the LANDMARK can explore these magnificent and finessed installations and interact with myriad authentic furniture and objects that belonged to the designer; products from Louis Vuitton, Christofle to Baccarat, and her purview crisscrossed retail, residential, luxury, accessories, commercial buildings, hotels, fabrics, carpets, graphics, even perfume - all tied together throughout space by Putman’s unique trademark use of black and white checkerboard floor tiles.
PMQ
