This exhibition aims to show photographs that capture a moment in time and also produces portraits of populations from different cultures. These photos can be considered as a fragmented and subjective account of life in these large cities and in particular about man’s place in them. Mathieu Casimiri, a young French photographer wants to show the limits imposed on man, his conscious and unconscious emotions, and reactions and postures, whereas others such as Xabi Etcheverry want to avoid copying reality and show their own view of the world through their photographs. The modern urban life showcased in this exhibition concentrates on the paradox that living in urban Asia is learning to live in a more competitive world, and being able to show initiative and creativity... This exhibition aims to help viewers discover cities of extremes and paradoxes between the East and the West, tradition and modernity.
