深井位於青山公路旁的小社區，與馬灣隔海相對。今天深井以燒鵝聞名中外，但原來這道美食是從潮州滷水鵝演變而成，當中亦包含了深井的歷史故事。 深井的發展見證了香港歷史的進程，她的故事從幾戶漁民開始，隨著1920年代青山公路開通，深井亦踏入工業年代，啤酒廠、紗廠、化工廠先後在此落戶，吸引了一群潮州籍的勞動階層，引伸出傳承至今的深井潮僑街坊盂蘭勝會，以及由滷水鵝演變而成燒鵝。戰後香港工業發展蓬勃，「香港製造」享譽全球，然而自1980年代起，工廠北移，工業日漸式微，深井豪宅湧現，轉變成住宅區。在這個新舊交替的時刻，讓我們步入深井社區，了解潮僑文化、品嚐美食、考察工業於社區留下甚麼印記。
