Next Sunday marks our one year anniversary!
We'd like to thank all members, performers, and speakers for making this first year possible as we continue to improve our brand and platform into 2014! The Balcony team has expanded in the past half year, so please join next Sunday's anniversary event as we'll be officially introducing the Balcony team :)
And with that .. here comes our first performance of 2014! When a Ukulele Meets African Drums
We invite you on a musical journey through the Hawaiian sands and the grounds of South Africa. Come discover the origins and sounds of these and other instruments like the egg-shaker and harmonica through a performance of songs old and new. Enjoy a sparkling afternoon filled with culture and interactive music-making (yes, we need your help to perform as well)!
Our Performers
Eric Hu is a long-time music experimenter with public performances covering opera voice, piano, and orchestral/solo violin. He has been practicing the ukulele since his days in college.
Robert Lee is an avid music fan who has been performing both original and cover music with a focus on percussion, sequencers, drum machines, and some guitar.
Jessica Yan is a music lover who started piano and classical music at a young age with experience performing as a choir soprano and a band keyboardist. She picked up the harmonica as a means to enrich her original music.
