PUSH x Volar present ASIAN INVASION
With Sugiurumn (Japan) and DJ Conan (South Korea)
After a year of massive guests from Europe including Dixon, Anja Schneider, Redshape, Ben UFO and more, PUSH will be shifting the focus to our immediate region for our July gig at Volar and are presenting the ASIAN INVASION.
Our headline guests that night will be two giants of the Japanese and South Korean scenes: Sugiurumn (from Tokyo) and DJ Conan (from Seoul). Together, these guys represent the energry and attitude of the regional electronic music movement, and will be bringing to Volar something fresh, something new and something truly Asian.
Sugiurumn
Sugiurumn is one of the few Japanese DJ/producers who have forged a connection with the world’s cutting-edge house scene. In early 2000, Sugiurumn first encountered Ibiza and returned to Japan full of inspiration. His first single “Star Baby” was remixed by Axwell, became licensed by Ministry Of Sound, and became a hit tune not only in Tokyo, but all around the world. In 2006, Sugiurumn (founder of the Bass Works Recordings label) was selected as the DJ of Pacha Ibiza’s mix CD, which led to a five-year residency in Ibiza. Since then, he has launched the monthly party called The Haçienda in Tokyo, toured South America, and earned a huge reputation for his techno-flavoured house music.
DJ Conan
Conan is one of South Korea's most respected club DJs and remains a a resident at top underground Seoul clubs like B-ONE and MUTE. Conan has a multifaceted and colorful style that covers everything from electro to acid house and techno, and incorporates elements from his early days as a scratch DJ in 2004. In the years since, Conan has focused on an electro-influenced sound, and his skills have allowed him to share the stage with the likes of Afrika Bambaata and DJ Shadow, as well as giants of the techno world such as Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier.
