Lumenvisum is proud to present “Last Landscape” A Photo Exhibition by Lau Chi Chung. The “Last” is an inevitable end, likes the ending of a story or movie giving people a sense of attachment.
The Photographer, Lau Chi Chung has spent most spare time searching for ruins to shoot in Hong Kong. He always found the castoff posters and abandoned furniture in the ruins which shaping a unique ruinscape. The ruinscape let him to find the traces of previous life. The decorated posters on the wall may see as a perfect getaway of people who had lived here looking for. Lau ran wild with his imagination on the previous life stories and connected with his lived experience into photographic form.
In this series, Lau took the silence ruin scenes to show final cast of different stories in Hong Kong. “Last Landscape” reflecting the impermanent and transitional characteristics of our city. The rapid urban development in Hong Kong challenging our histories and memories, various scenes of“Last Landscape”are currently being played out in Hong Kong and we are all the participants in this farewell ceremony.
