To celebrate a traditional festival that had been enjoyed by the Chinese people for centuries, the Entertainment Office organizes the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals every year. The public can enjoy spectacular lantern displays and performances featuring classical songs and dance and traditional stage arts at the Carnivals. Various participatory activities such as nostalgic games, palm-readings and lantern riddle games are well received by citizens from all walks of life. Roving artist performances are also arranged to enhance the festive atmosphere at the Carnival sites. Mid-Autumn Spectacular Lantern Display To promote Chiresidents and tourists alike, month-long nese ethnic culture among lantern displays with themes are held around the Mid-Autumn Festival. - Spectacular performances by Beijing Arts Troupe: ethnic songs and dance, acrobatics and Chinese folk crafts. Remarks Naked-flame lanterns, alcoholic drinks, aerosol spray, metallic balloons or bottles are prohibited inside the Carnival sites.
