We see our world in colour but colour can be a distraction. Black and white photography is a very effective medium to accentuate the textures, shapes, forms, tonal contrasts and lighting of the components within a photo. Sometimes black and white photos have a timeless appeal or a nostalgic atmosphere. When colours are in black and white, they become shades of gray. Let us see the world in monochrome. This exhibition features 27 film and digital photos taken by 9 local and international photographers and is divided into three parts: portraiture, architecture and landscapes. Dialogues are tripartite between the photographers, the black and white medium and viewers. Participating in this exhibition are Michelle Chan, Philip Chan, Karen Choi, Irene Flanhardt, Marissa Reyes, Calvin Sit, Jimmy Tsang, Mable Tsang and Tracey van Geest. This group consists of professional and freelance photographers who have exhibited in various exhibitions locally or overseas.
