Hong Kong is one of the major trading hubs of electronic products and components in Asia Pacific, with electronics industry as the largest merchandise export earner of the territory, accounting for 59% of Hong Kong’s total exports in 2013. In October, the influential electronics trade events, Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia, are going to take place in Hong Kong. Last year, the two annual fairs attracted more than 100,000 buyers coming from around the world. In 2014, the fairs will continue to provide the international trading platform for over 4,100 exhibitors to showcase their newest electronic products, electronic components and technologies to the world of buyers. The 34th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), while the 18th electronicAsia is jointly organised by HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd. The two fairs, representing the world’s largest electronics marketplace, will be held concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 16 October 2014. The Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) presents all kinds of electronic gadgets such as audio visual products, computer and peripherals, digital imaging, electronic gaming, i-World, in-vehicle electronics & navigation systems, home appliances and security products. Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director, HKTDC, said, “Nowadays, there is an increasing demand for wearable electronics in the market. The upcoming Electronics Fair will introduce a new product zone as well as a showcase area to present this latest development. Another new zone to be launched at the fair is 3D Printing, where exhibitors will present their cutting-edge 3D printers and technology." The Hall of Fame, showcasing well-known brand names and stylish products, has been a spotlight of the Electronics Fair and will return with brands such as Binatone, Fujikon, Goodway, Oregon Scientific, Tunbow and VTech. Invention Zone will display all kinds of new hi-tech innovations from worldwide exhibitors with IP registered or pending for approval.
