《期限》靈感來自紐約男童帕茨失蹤事件。這條線彷彿把生命割斷，deadline前後，生命可以由無限美好，跌進無盡痛苦深淵。二十年前交纏在William和Sarah的兒子人間蒸發，下落不明，二十年後，deadline逐漸逼近，他們仍在等待兒子回家，難以釋懷的情感更影響了與同性戀的女兒Carmen的相處。
