Nov 6 Wild Beasts + Jon Hopkins cancellation
With supreme regret, we have to announce the cancellation of the Nov 6th Your Mum & Hostess Club date featuring Wild Beasts + Jon Hopkins.
The Hong Kong show is one part of a wider tour anchored and supported by Japan's main event. With the news that the Tokyo Hostess Club Weekender would be cancelled (for headline artist
visa reasons) the whole tour is no longer viable.
We will be looking to bring the artists out to HK at another time, and in the meantime, refunds will be available directly from ticketflap.Ticketholders will be contacted directly though can also send
enquiries through to:

Sincerest apologies,
Your Mum & Ynos
Amazing double header and double HK debut, from two great contemporary and consistently credible acts.
Wild Beasts
Wild Beasts are a popular indie rock band who are from Kendal, England. Since 2008, they have released four acclaimed albums.
The members of the band are all multi-instrumentalists, and describe themselves as “moving as one animal”. They are:
- Hayden Thorpe
- Tom Fleming
- Ben Little
- Chris Talbot
This year’s Present Tense album continued to pursue the band's shift into electronic and synthesized sounds, yet with a more direct and aggressive feel in comparison to Smother. Receiving a Metacritic score of 86, representing universal acclaim. The Guardian for example proclaiming “Dig deep and there's powerful drama and enigmatic subtlety in equal measure as the Cumbrian four-piece once again embrace understated electronica and invite favorable comparisons with Talk Talk.” 8/10 and The Line of Best Fit “They’ve pulled off possibly the most intelligent, involving and profound record since OK Computer.” 10/10.
Always a totally a mesmerizing, compelling and butt-shaking live experience, Wild Beasts in Hong Kong is a performance that is absolutely not to be missed.

Jon Hopkins
Jon Hopkins is an electronic music producer and musician from South London.
Another Domino Records artist – and by now, surely everyone knows the deeply intelligent and equally deeply kick-arse beats of his brilliant 2013 album “Immunity”. The album garnered near universal praise:
Mixmag: “Bold, brilliant and beautiful.” 10/10
MusicOMH "A modern classic"10/10
Pitchfork: "A remarkably visceral, sensual, confident electronic record” 10/10.
However, there is very much more to the music of Jon Hopkins. His first album, “Opalescent’ was released back in 2001 "This extraordinary debut uniquely combines the light with the dark, the beautiful with the mysterious, in a glorious atmosphere where the world of trip hop beats and chill out are made Jon's own personal domain. Sometimes eerie, sometimes majestic, but always profoundly musical." (Discogs)
The Observer gave a recent live show a glowing review: “…building his tracks like a hyperactive stenographer, his organic approach to constructing sounds gives his set depth, solidity, flesh and feeling… Beneath a cinema screen of magnified dyes crystallizing, it's all part of Hopkins' stated aim to hypnotize and overwhelm with sound. A Mercurial display”.
We can expect a set of intelligent and very danceable electronica based around the tracks from Immunity. There is just no way that you want to be anywhere else on November the 6th.
