On an exclusive Asia tour since April 2014, an experiential exhibition entitled ‘The Perfect Cut’ explores BOSS’ extensive sartorial experience and its longstanding affair in developing the quintessential suit. Taking you on a narrative journey, ‘The Perfect Cut’ recounts the decades’ long story behind crafting a BOSS suit from when the first off-the-peg model was made back in 1960 to today.
In six parts, the exhibit uses interactive elements to chronicle the rich details of BOSS’ process, from its inception at the hands of master tailors––elevating the concept of ‘Made in Germany’––and through its manufacturing process and other made-to-measure offerings. Even a 3-D holograph, ‘Pepper’s Ghost,’ taken from the drama ‘The Haunted Man’ by Charles Dickens in an 1862 technological recreation by John Henry Pepper in London, is projected to deconstruct the various construction panels and patterns used to create the consummate suit.
Through past, present and future tales, ‘The Perfect Cut’ also introduces the brand’s contemporary ambassadors, like British Formula One champion Jenson Button, World Cup champion German National Team, and actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Gerard Butler. Guests can similarly glimpse parts of BOSS’ bespoke in-store salons and peruse a comprehensive style guide, which includes myriad fabrics––like stretch satins, classic two-ply herringbones, jacquards and printed twills––and luxurious finishes, like mother of pearl and burnt-edged horn buttons.
Perfectly fusing German technology, engineered tailoring and craft, BOSS has continued to elevate modern suiting for both men and women, bringing high-end tailoring, quality and made-to-measure luxury with its functional aesthetic and stylish appeal. Visiting ‘The Perfect Cut’ is just like going through a remarkable tour of our brand heritage, whereby the audience receives an extraordinary look into the culture of manmade craft, the continued inheritance of perfecting details and technological advancement.
