Featuring ancient folk songs, popular tunes from the 1950s and recent compositions, this concert traces the emergence of the Hong Kong identity. Written by mainland composers who have visited or emigrated to Hong Kong as well as Hong Kong’s native talents, these works form a composite portrait of the city’s multiple dimensions and offer an experience of its energy and dynamism. The concert features outstanding soloists including Hong Kong pianist Colleen Lee, and masterpieces that have garnered international recognition. This unique event brings together music that stands the test of time, reflects the rich history of Hong Kong and looks forward to the future in the city we call home.
