An overwhelming and extraordinary talent Music | Korea Still only 20 years of age, rising star Seong-Jin Cho was the youngest ever 1st prize-winner of the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2009. Fêted as one of the finest pianists of his generation, he was also a prize-winner at the 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition and at the 2014 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. Praised by the great violinist Kyung-wha Chung as the musician “set to become one of the greatest pianists in the world”, Cho has played concertos with such top rank orchestras as the Munich Philharmonic, the Mariinsky and Russian National orchestras, and the Orchestra Philharmonique de Radio France under someof the greatest conductors of our time: Valery Gergiev, the late Lorin Maazel, Mikhail Pletnev and Myung-Whun Chung.
