The LONGINES Hong Kong International Races (LHKIR) are well recognised as the "Turf World Championships" and this year will be held on Sunday 14 December at Sha Tin Racecourse. Fans coming to Sha Tin to witness the world-class racing action can also enjoy an array of special trackside activities, including a free LHKIR cap as a souvenir.
Guinness World Record performance
Racegoers can enjoy the world class hula-hoop performance at Sha Tin Racecourse on 14 December — The Light of Technology with dynamic music and stage lights, this group performance revivifies rhythms. The program has collected great reputations such the world renowned Golden K Award at the 17th Monte Carlo ‘First on Stage’ International Acrobatics Competition in Monaco. One performer of this show even won the Guinness World Record by catching and spinning 236 hula-hoops within one minute.
International culinary treats at racecourse
A wide selection of local and international culinary treats will be on offer both racecourses. All dishes will be prepared with their traditional ingredients and seasonings to ensure that racing fans can savour a unique and authentic eating experience.
Celebrities add star power
Renowned movie star Eddie Peng, another LONGINES Ambassador of Elegance this year, will be among many celebrities attending this world-famous race meeting. Renowned Cantopop singer Miriam Yeung will help get the day off to a memorable start by performing some of her all-time favourites at the Opening Variety Show.
