Erlend Øye is a Norwegian composer, musician, producer, singer and songwriter from Bergen, Norway. Best known for being part, together with Eirik Glambek Bøe, of the acoustic guitar-based duo Kings of Convenience. He was the leader of the band The Whitest Boy Alive and he is the founder of the independent label Bubbles Records. He released a solo record in 2003 called Unrest that paired his voice with electronic music. He has produced 2 records for Norwegian band Kakkmaddafakka. He was born in Bergen, Norway, and has lived in London, Berlin and Siracusa (Italy).
In 2013 and 2014 he recorded his second solo-album Legao. This was recorded in Iceland together with Icelandic musicians. 3 of these musicians joined his touring band The Rainbows together with 2 players from Napoli, Italy and 1 from Finland. Erlend Øye and The Rainbows have played in Germany, Poland, France, UK, Croatia, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and South Korea, and are now looking forward to continuing their Asian adventure with a return to HK for Erlend, following successful sold out shows in the past.
