Markets are fascinating places to photograph though they can pose real challenges at times. Many things happen simultaneously, resulting in an element of unpredictability. We capture people going about their everyday business through the lenses and see many facets of life, the diversity of local charms, peoples and cultures. Despite a proliferation of supermarkets in our cities, these markets still exist and make us ponder why. This photography exhibition features 27 photos taken by 8 local and international photographers who visited 11 countries and captured market scenes depicting the diversity of open, closed and night markets, stall display, best seasonal produce, attires worn by market vendors and customers as well as their attitudes towards buying and selling, lifestyles and even romance. Participating in this exhibition are Michelle Chan, Wesley Chan, Karen Choi, Irene Flanhardt, Annie Kwong, Jimmy Tsang, Alan Tse and Tracey van Geest.
