An exhibition in collaboration with Kraemer Gallery in Paris showcasing the aesthetic and formal similarities ofFrench and Chinese furniture between the 17th and 18th century. Serving as a homage and mirroring of the twocultures, the creative journeys of China and France are marked by the reigns of prominent rulers from King LouisXIV to Louis XVI and the emperors Kangxi and Qianlong. For the first time, furniture from the era are broughttogether side-by-side, revealing an uncanny kinship. Viewers are invited to study the contrasts and similarities instyle, technique and craftsmanship, from chairs, lampstands, tables, screens, bookcases to canopy beds. Admission Fee $200 includes a guided tour, appointments are required. Wednesdays are open free of charge to full-time students with prior arrangement.
