Celebrated Chinese artist, Leng Hong's oil paintings are rich in texture and mysterious in feel. His oeuvre varies from landscapes and still life to Tang ladies, polo players and horses. Inspired by Tang poetry and influenced by his life in France, the paintings combine East and West, past and present to create a feeling of nostalgia. Born in 1955, Shanghai, Leng graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy in Fine Arts and moved to Bordeaux in 1986 to further his artistic career. Since then he has held numerous exhibitions in France and China. He was awarded Grand Prize “Nouveau Talent” of the Federation Nationale de la Culture Francaise in 1987.
