Inspired by the fluidity and possibility of water, the French artist, Antonin Fourneau conceived and created Water Light Graffiti. The installation celebrates the matter that we are all made up of and embraces the possibilities that lie within nature and propose to the public an unexpected interactive experience. Water Light Graffiti is a LEDs wall that reacts when exposed to the water and thus allows us to draw on it with the lights. So we could draw or write with a brush, a sponge, a water pistol, a sprayer... The brightness is determined by the quantity of water filled in : the more water there is, the more intense the brightness would become. Once the water is evaporated, the LEDs will switch off to leave more available spaces. This innovative surface proposes another approach on the practice of graffiti, of drawing and of writing by leaving the trail of our bright imagination. Water Light Graffiti offers a new form of expression and interactivity in urban spaces and a new experience adapted to all publics, to all mixed sensibilities. About Antonin Fourneau “I am an artist or designer or inventor. I’m an electronic enthusiast and I like to play Dr. Frankenstein with all these technologies” says Antonin Fourneau. . In 2005, Antonin Fourneau had received diplomat in the art of Fine Arts from Aix-en-Provence, and also followed by a degree in Interactive Art of the ENSAD Paris. Since then, Antonin concentrates on the interaction and the relationship with popular cultures. He is originally from a collaborative project on innovation and new forms of carnivals, called Eniarof. Most of his researches deal with the pleasure of interacting with a large group of people. In the line of his work, he was selected for a residence in Japan in 2007 in the Tokyo Wonder Site, followed by a residence in Medialab Prado of Madrid in 2008 focusing on his project called Oterp (a geolocated musical game). Antonin took part of numerous expositions linked to digital art. He actually teaches the Digital Arts at the ENSAD and intervenes in many schools such as CAFA-Beijing.
