ROUGE EPHEMERE GALLERY is happy to present the works of two French ceramists: Sylvie KUNESH and Maud LELIEVRE. For them, modeling clay is the most appropriate way to express themselves. Sylvie illustrates the human condition by reducing the size of her characters and arranging them poetically. The leaning heads bear faces with looks of amazement; are they screaming even? Nature is powerful, a wave or a strong wind could easily sweep away these suspended lives. Maud highlights her senses through the Raku technique. Every step of her creations: modeling, sculpting, glazing, smoke-firing, is important to her. She tackles them with much passion and love.
