A major exhibition of Le French May 2015 on the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres, from its origins to the present, will be presented at the University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG) of The University of Hong Kong from June 10 to August 16, 2015. Organized by Pierre Dumonteil, together with the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres and UMAG, the exhibition will invite visitors to discover the extraordinary quality of the porcelain production at this world-famous manufactory as well as the sophistication of its traditional craftsmanship. Since the 18th century, this quest for perfection in ceramic manufacture has seduced royalty, aristocrats and connoisseurs from all over the world, including dignities such as the Emperor of China, and until today, meticulousness is still the guiding requirement for the selection of artists and contemporary works.
