Works by renowned Chinese artist Yang Jiechang have been exhibited extensively across Europe and China. Living and working in Paris since 1989, the artist will be featured in an exclusive exhibition for Le French May 2015. We live in a time of conflict and unpredictable change, where feelings of insecurity and disorientation prevail, and the international mass media continues to encourage latent hysteria. Through this exhibition of auspicious images, Yang wishes to bring positivity to Hong Kong. Returning to the city after his last major exhibition at the Hong Kong University Museum and Art Gallery in 2001, this new solo show at the Central Library Exhibition Galleries will feature the artist’s signature pieces, such as his famous 100 Layers of Ink paintings, and video installations as well as a new, monumental 14 panel painting.
