Animal habitats are gradually lost as per the rapid urban development. Take “three runway system” proposal of the Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok as an example. The controversial public opinion argues that its social and environmental cost may be downplayed and the project may drive the disappearance of the Chinese white dolphins (CWDs) from Hong Kong waters. In fact, numbers of studies show our human development is the major threat to animals on the planet that such a rapid change and tremendous human accession caused the increasing number of endangered species.
The exhibition “Sew The Fairytales” features a series of Alice’s embroidery of those fairy tales most touched her. She reviewed the fairy tales once again and repositioned those characters in her own perspective reminding us the “true” harmonious relationship between man and nature, such as she renamed the classic British fairy tale as “Three Bears and Goldilocks” in which she reverses the word order and puts bears as the top priority in order to bring out our attention to help prevent endangered animals from dying out, and even save the earth.
