Let the International Arts Carnival brings you a cool summer this year! Parents and kids are welcome to treat themselves to a wide variety of inspiring and fun-filled stage performances and cultural activities from 10 July to 16 August, an excellent way to enjoy an unforgettable and artistic summer vacation! The Festival will open with an acrobatic spectacular Legend of the Silk Road by Shaanxi Acrobatic Troupe at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre from 10 to 12 July. Cleverly blending over 20 eye-opening acrobatic feats with enchanting dances, gorgeous costumes and dazzling stage designs, the show takes us on a sentimental epic journey along the colourful Silk Road. Celebrated conductor Charles Dutoit and internationally-renowned pianist YUNDI will collaborate with over a hundred young music talents from the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America for the concert in Hong Kong, performing timeless classics of Beethoven and Berlioz, and a new work by Tan Dun. Brilliant performing arts companies from Australia, France, Spain, Taiwan and the UK, as well as outstanding local arts groups will bring many other fascinating productions for audience of all ages, including physical theatre, shadow puppetry, percussion concert, multimedia theatre, puppetry, interactive theatre for infants, magic theatre and musical theatre. Extension activities such as workshops, cultural tours, exhibition and outreach programmes also provide wonderful opportunities for everyone to experience the joy of arts.
